We at Luton Karate Academy are a Team from start to finish.
Experience! Reliability! Expertise!
The Luton Karate Academy (LKA) was founded by sensei Liam Mills & sensei Mark Slattery in 2014.
The foundations of the club are built on the merit of world class students, not only noted for their talents locally, but also worldwide in countries such as Japan, Denmark, Italy and Norway where
our students have won world class tournaments and become WORLD CHAMPIONS through their passion and gritted determination to succeed in the art of karate.
Cheif instructor Mark Slattery 4th Dan & Technical Director Liam Mills 3rd Dan KWF, between them have 28 years experience of karate-do and have trained with many top instructors from around the
world (please take a look at the Black belt page for their full karate CVs).
The LKA dojo is a warm and friendly place to train and can offer students fitness, self defence and the art of shotokan karate. Come along to one of our classes for a taster - the first lesson is
free for all newcomers.
We don't differentiate between our members; anyone, either young, adolescent or mature, is very welcome to join us. Our qualified instructors are team members just like anyone else and will be
happy to tell you more about the discipline of karate. The benefits to gain from karate include fitness, discipline, confidence, self-esteem, stamina and self defence to name just a few.
All our instructors and committee members have undergone enhanced CRB/DBS screening and we are more than happy to disclose the results to anyone who wishes to view them.
We have trained first-aiders at all times and also have robust policies in place with regard to safeguarding children, equality and Codes of Conduct for everyone involved in the club.
We are a non-profit organisation and are always happy to welcome new members who are interested in joining in with club activities, helping us organise events and being part of our community.
